Arremate in choro is the way a phrase, a section, or the piece itself is brought to a close. It is one of the elements that make up the language of choro, and mastering it will make you more fluent in that language.

More than a simple ending, an arremate works as a stylized conclusion, in which musicians shape the close with elegance, clarity, and often a touch of technical brilliance. It may appear as a rhythmic figure shared by the ensemble, or as an ascending or descending melodic line that leads the music to a firm and musically convincing resolution.
